One night I was dreaming. It was more of an abstract dream filled with vibrant colors, shapes, and sounds. What started out as simple and flowing began to crescendo into fast moving frenzied swirls of vibrant color and fast music. The colors and sounds were thundering in my dream as though responding to the beat of a drum whose drummer had become a bit unhinged! It was loud and chaotic and I could feel my heart beginning to race until suddenly the alarm on my phone began to play. Slicing right through the hectic sounds of my dream were the sweet melodic chords of the song, “My Beloved” by Kari Jobe.
I quickly turned my alarm off so as to not wake my husband who was sound asleep next to me; it was 4:30 a.m. after all. As I lay my head back on my pillow staring up at the dark ceiling, I was relieved to have been awakened from that crazy dream. The beautiful melody from the song on my alarm filled my mind, you’re My beloved you’re My bride to sing over you is My delight…, and then I heard the Holy Spirit say, “That’s what the Father does, He slices right through all the chaos with this beautiful message that ‘you’re His beloved.’”
Beautiful isn’t it? Think about that for a moment. Think about the great lengths the Father went through to get His Son here. Ripping open eternity to place Him among humanity bound by his love for us and limited only by his desire to yield to the Father’s plan—not His own will but the Father’s will be done.
This is powerful friend! His desire for us, His love, His plan, and His purpose cut through all the chaos in our lives! All the lies! All the doubt, the fear, the worry, and sin—anything that may be thundering in our lives at the moment—hearing from the Father’s heart pierces through it all while planting a message of hope in our hearts. He plants His love song in our heart and plays His melody of affection over us restoring us to our position as His beloved through the blood of His Son. Wooing us to His chambers where He eagerly awaits our willingness to join Him.
“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” —Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV
You’re God’s Beloved!
It’s the cry of His heart that we come away with Him, that we desire Him, and that we find rest and refuge in Him. Just as King David expressed in the Psalms, it’s His promise for us that He will lead us beside still waters and quiet our soul (Ps. 23:2–3).
He calls you His beloved and He calls you beautiful, so beautiful.
He sings over you a song of peace.
You have an opportunity to cast all your cares at His feet (Ps. 55:22). Will you? When you do your burdens lift from your shoulders and you become His. He blankets you with His peace. He breathes His life inside of you. Where you once felt dry and weary He breathes new life into you. Dry bones come alive (Ez. 37)! He lifts you up on eagle’s wings where you can soar peacefully above all that once weighed you down. You are given a fresh perspective.
