Dear My Generation,
Haven’t you had enough of the ups and downs and variations of TRUTH out there? Haven’t you been confused long enough to realize there has to be a better way?
It’s time to take back your identity and rise up in boldness upon a firm foundation.
One that does not waiver and shift like sand beneath your feet.
“Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” —Psalm 62:5-8
So many of my generation don’t realize that absolute truth even exists. Most have embraced the post-modern mindset that everything is relative and what is truth for me may not be truth for you and visa versa. Well, I am here to proclaim to a generation being tossed about by the waves of culture that there is something real, something tangible, something firm that you can stand upon as a solid foundation for your life. It’s the Living Word of God.
As I wrote about in a previous #dailytruth—Rooted in Absolute Truth—the word of God is alive, sharper than any double edged sword (Heb. 4:12). It is not an empty history book making reference to how culture functioned in a time long ago—it is an anchor for your soul!
The word of God contains your heritage. It is the inspired living Word breathed by the mouth of God Almighty as a roadmap for your life (2 Timothy 3:16-17)! The principles, truths and teachings contained in the Bible are absolutely true, and are something you can thrust your life into (Numbers 23:19).
As a mother I need to know what I believe so that I can raise my children in something real. I need to know without a doubt that when I tell my daughter she can say the name “Jesus” at night if she’s scared and He will hear her and comfort her. And I do know this… and so does she… and at five years old she began calling on the Name Jesus in the night and no longer has bad dreams! He came to her! And she knows Him well.
That is Truth.
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” —John 1:14 NIV
When you dive into truth you will not be swayed to believe every wave of teaching coming from the pulpits and media today. When you are rooted in the Word you will bear the fruit of the Spirit of God and you will be able to test and approve what is right.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” —Romans 12:2
Jesus said, “you will know them by their fruits.” —Matthew 7:16
This takes the guess work out of certain questions like I read today on Charisma News about “Can Christians Use Profanity and Still Glorify God?” When you are rooted in absolute truth you know the answer to this is a very simple, NO. Christians cannot glorify God in using profane language, period. Come on…
Enough already My Generation!!
ENOUGH!
We are a generation passionate about speaking our minds. We are a generation motivated to make a difference in the world around us. So lets link arms in unity firmly rooted in the absolute truth of the Word of God and not be shaken by the culture we are immersed in any longer! Let’s take our voice to the Father and allow Him to shape our tone and get us back in the lane of proclaiming unwavering truth to a generation desperately seeking for answers!
Having been born in 1982 I represent one of the oldest age brackets within the Millennial generation. Recently God has set a fire in my heart to see my generation come back to the center of the Word. The crossroads of the truth and proclaim the gospel of Jesus as it is written and as God originally intended! Just as Paul corrected Peter when Peter wasn’t backing up what he was preaching (Gal. 2:11–14), it’s time we older Millennia’s set a standard for our generation and point them back to TRUTH. If we don’t I fear culture will gobble them up like quicksand.
Let’s get back to the Truth, guys. Its now or never.
“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” —John 8:32 NIV
With all my heart and in the Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who flung stars into space and knit you together in your mother’s womb and gave you your identity as a son or a daughter and knows the end from the beginning… in His Name that is above every other name,
Krissy
P.S. How can I pray for you today?
