“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” —Revelation 12:11 NIV
Several months ago I was speaking at a conference about the blood of Jesus and the power of the testimony. As I prepared my heart for this message I began reflecting on my own testimony. But for some reason the more I pondered my story the more foggy it became. I couldn’t pinpoint my testimony. The more I thought about it the more frustrated I became. I fell to my knees in my room and began crying out to God, “What is my testimony, Lord? What is it? Please show me so that I might share it with others!”
I lay there on my face weeping and pleading with Him to drop a pin on the story in my life I could claim as my testimony. When I was fifteen I had a major encounter with Him that shifted the course of my life, which I’ve written about in several previous devotionals; but here I was nearly 32 years old and I was desperate to see the testimony within my adult years that I could share.
Suddenly the sweet yet vibrant voice of God penetrated my cries and spoke simply, “Where have you seen the power of the blood of Jesus in your life?”
This question hit my heart like a tilde wave and brought clarity to my mind. I was searching through the pages and chapters of my life looking for some kind of sub-heading that would indicate “TESTIMONY” but what I should have been looking for were the many areas that the blood had washed over, redeemed, protected, restored, and more through the years.
From there I began to reflect on my life in a new way. As I searched for my testimony I approached each page with the question God gave me, “Where have I seen the power of the blood of Jesus in my life?”
Its then I could recognize each chapter my life contained testimonies of His power. I began to see clearly the crimson thread weaving together the pages throughout each season.
His protection.
His provision.
His healing touch.
His mercy.
His kindness.
His grace.
All written in red in the story of my life.
Later that night as I spoke I was able to share my testimony from a fresh place. It had become so real to me that day as I explored the pages of my life and saw where He had touched me. God released the same challenge over each of them as He did to me that day…it was powerful. And that brings us to now… as I can feel Him stirring it up again today as I’ve sat down to write…
This is a word of victory and truth for you today friend!
God is asking you now, “Where have you seen the power of the blood of Jesus in your life?”
It’s a pressing question and He desires for you to search out the answer. When you do, He becomes more real to you! You begin to see that He’s always been there… He’s never left you nor will He ever leave you (Deut. 31:8). He’s been right there all along.
Tuck away with Him today and begin to examine your life looking for those areas where His blood has protected you. Those pages where His blood cleansed you and saved you and transformed you. There is POWER in the blood of Jesus friend! And there is power in the testimony of Jesus. When you know where His blood has impacted your life and transformed your story you will begin to walk in greater authority and be able to boldly proclaim the Word of Truth and the power of the cross to a world desperate for hope!
When you can share how His blood has been real in your life you impart hope to a world desperate for something real in theirs!
I love you,
Krissy
P.S. How can I be praying for you today?
