“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” —Psalm 119:105 NIV

Are you finding it difficult to see clearly? You’re not sure what God is doing or saying or if He is even speaking to you? Are you desperate for some answers? For peace? Are you desperate for clarity?

Well friend, God has a word for you today.

Let’s take a look at the woman with the issue of blood from Luke 8:40-48. Ponder her journey with me, will you? The Bible tells us in verse 43 that she had been subject to bleeding for 12 years! She had spent all of her money—everything she had—on doctors but no one was able to make her well. Can you imagine the confusion brooding in her heart and mind through those years? I can only imagine the questions that must have raced through her thoughts on a regular basis,

Why is this happening to me?

What is the purpose of my life? 

Why is God allowing this to go on? 

Doesn’t anyone care about me?

Because of the cultural climate of her day she would have been deemed legally unclean and would have been shunned from society due to her uncontrollable bleeding. It is likely that many of her family and friends would have turned their backs on her. This woman would have been lonely, likely very discouraged and absolutely desperate for hope!

Then imagine this: one day she hears about a man who has been healing every sick person He comes in contact with! He’s even cleansing lepors and raising dead people! She would have also learned about His great compassion and kindness for people who were considered social outcasts. I can just imagine how news like this would cause the cobwebs to clear from her mind as hope rises up from within and she says to herself,

This is it! 

This is what I’ve been waiting for!

I have to get to this man!

If I can only touch the mere hem of His robe I know that will be enough!

I will be well! For the first time in years I can see clearly—Jesus is the answer I’ve been waiting for. 

As we read in the scriptures, she was right! After making her way through the crowd she reached out and touched His robe and was made completely well! Jesus who was surrounded by hundreds of people pressing on Him suddenly felt healing power leave His body as it connected with her faith! He stopped everything to find the one who touched Him so that He could affirm her faith and confirm her healing—her breakthrough!

Friend—Jesus is your answer too!

If you’ve been desperate for answers… desperate for clarity… I pray that a surge of hope rises up within you as your faith increases! Jesus will clear away the cobwebs as you dive into His word. Dive into the secret place and begin to allow your relationship and fellowship with Him to deepen. Know that you know that you know that He is the key to seeing clearly. He is the author and finisher of faith (Heb. 12:2).

Be encouraged today, what’s been cloudy will begin to clear and what’s been difficult to see will become illuminated as you seek Him friend! Dive deep! He is longing for personal relationship and fellowship with you—His beloved. Like the woman with the issue of blood as you pursue Him with unyielding faith He will affirm your faith and confirm your breakthrough!
